It was always a joy to talk to Susan at church ... she was terribly kind to me when my own mother died, but I most remember Susan for her pragmatic response to the events of 31 August 1997 (which I won’t go into here, but gave me a great respect for Susan from then on). I, like many others, am better for knowing (albeit just a little) Susan. Love and prayers to Frances and the family at this difficult time. Christopher @ St Bride’s Church.

We met Sue in the autumn of 1998 when we became neighbours. From the very beginning, she was so kind and welcoming to this young Canadian couple, new to the UK, and we became fast friends. We remained close and in-touch in the years after we left Corringway, and we were deeply saddened by her passing. We shall miss her beautiful smile, quick wit, and warm heart. A bright light has gone out in the Garden Suburb, and indeed in London, her much loved home. We feel certain she’ll never be far from it, or from those she loved. We’ll miss her so very much.

My late wife and I had a long, happy and discursive association with Sue through our common involvement with St Brides Church. Discussion with her was was always rewarding and full of generous understanding. One particularly fondly remembers her support during my wife's disabled last years - Peter Longland
